The VPA-FLEGT Championing Forest Peoples’ Rights and Participation (CFPR) Project funded by the EU and DFID promotes the rights and participation of forest and indigenous communities in the implementation of political and legal reforms in the forestry sector linked to the Voluntary Partnership Agreement. The project is implemented by the Centre for International Development and Training (CIDT) of the University of Wolverhampton in the UK; Forest People’s Programme (FPP); FERN; Centre for Environment and Development (CED); Forêts et Développement Rural (FODER); Maison de l’Enfant et de la Femme Pygmées (MEFP); and Centre pour l’Information Environnementale et le Développement Durable (CIEDD). Following the end of the two and half years’ project, FOKABS was selected to conduct a final evaluation of the project.

FOKABS performed the following tasks:

  • Assessed the extent to which the project has achieved its intended results.
  • Compared the baseline situation to the situation as of the end of the project.
  • Identified factors for sustainability beyond the Life of the Project.
  • Identified good practices and lessons for scaling-up and organisational learning.
