The course, ran by the Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI), brought together university students from all over the world for a one month intensive training on tropical forestry. The different components of the training included field methodologies on forest inventory, biodiversity conservation, non-timber forest products, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, and forest-based livelihoods. Our role was to prepare materials, train and guide students to conduct vulnerability and adaptation assessments within the forest ecosystem.
