Fokabs Prepares Countries for UN Climate Conference (SB 48)
Brazzaville – Congo, 13-14 February 2018. FOKABS supported the ten-member states of the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) during a central African regional workshop aimed at decoding the results of the 23rd conference of parties (COP 23) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Fokabs :
- Helped the participants to better understand the scope of the conclusions of COP 23 in general and of the points of interest in the COMIFAC space in particular;
- Prepared the COMIFAC Working Group on Climate Change (WGCCC) for the next climate conference scheduled for April / May 2018 in Bonn, Germany.
More than forty participants took part, including representatives from the Ministry in charge of the Environment of Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Chad; the National Focal Points of the UNFCCC; legal advisers from the various countries; Coordinators of the National Communications, BUR and NDC, National REDD+ process; Representatives of regional institutions and donors.
