 This workshop introduced students from the University of Buea to the transformative power of digital innovation in driving development in Cameroon. It explored key concepts of emerging digital technologies, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart infrastructure, and how they can revolutionize various sectors such as construction, energy, transportation, and urban planning. Through hands-on exercises, students engaged with digital tools that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and economic growth.

The workshop also highlighted research opportunities, helping students identify niche areas such as BIM for smart cities, AI-driven automation in construction, digital twins for infrastructure, and blockchain applications in project management. Discussions emphasized how digital transformation fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and data-driven decision-making to accelerate national development.

The session concluded with practical strategies for leveraging digital technologies in real-world applications. Additionally, the workshop showcased career opportunities in the digital economy and how mastering these technologies can significantly enhance employability and position students as leaders in Cameroon’s digital transformation.
