Agriculture is expected to respond to the increasing challenges of food security and climate change. To ease the challenges posed by climate change, agriculture systems need to be designed and implemented in a “climate-smart” context, that is, sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes, adapting and building resilience to climate change, and reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, wherever possible. As a new approach to guide the needed changes in the agriculture systems, the design of policies and strategies, and the dissemination and uptake of climate-smart technologies, tools and practices is still largely an ongoing and challenging process. FOKABS has expertise in providing a range of services on climate-smart agriculture from the international, continental, regional, country to local levels. Our services are of relevance to donors, national and local governments, civil society, private sector, community organisations, non-governmental organisations, Universities and research institutions.
