Country: Djibouti
Context of Project: This GEF-funded, UNDP-supported project aimed to promote an integrated model for restoring agropastoral ecosystem services in Djibouti’s Cheikhetti watershed. Operating from 2021 to 2026, its objectives were to reduce land degradation, improve the self-sufficiency of vulnerable rural communities, and create a replicable model for sustainable land management through enhanced governance, land rehabilitation, climate-resilient practices, and knowledge management.
Fokabs’ Role:
- Lead the entire evaluation process, including the design of the methodology and work plan.
- Conduct strategic interviews with high-level government and international stakeholders, supervise field visits, and performe the technical and strategic analysis.
- Draft and finalize the TE Inception Report, the draft TE report, and the final evaluation report in full compliance with UNDP/GEF standards, ensuring the assessment of project results, relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, and gender mainstreaming.
