The GEF-World Bank funded PREREDD project is building the capacities of Congo basin countries to effectively implement REDD+ and manage their forests sustainably. The different components of the project center around improving regional knowledge and coordination on REDD+, capacity building on carbon stocks measurement, and the integration of REDD+ into sustainable forest management of the Congo basin. Our roles was to train national experts on forest carbon standards especially plan vivo, CCBA and VCS. We also conducted a field assessment of five selected forest carbon and PES projects in Cameroon with the view of documenting key lessons and recommendations on REDD+ safeguards in Cameroon and the Congo basin.
